A faint fish and oil aroma upon opening. Four large white fillets to the tin. A meaty, flaky fish. A mild-tasting fish, no fishy taste or after. A firm-textured fish holds its shape well while removed from tin. A good balance of oil flavor and Salt; compliments the fish. Hard to believe this is canned fish. Will eat again. 5 Sardines

OVERALL:
No noticeable aroma upon opening. Thought I heard an echo when I opened the tin, with all the empty space in the can. Three sardines to the tin, a soft fish, mustard not overpowering. Would have liked to have been able to of tasted more dill. The flavor is very weak in this tin. I would probably eat again. 2 1/2 sardines.

No strong aroma upon opening. Five medium-sized sardines to the tin. An appealing tin of fish. Basil is very detectable on the first bite. The sauce is on the sweet side, a very soft fish that dissolves in your mouth. Slight fish after taste. Would not eat again. one sardine.

A slight sardine aroma upon opening. Three fish to the tin, a roe-filled fish. The fish are a tad on the spiny side. The consistency of the fish is chewy. Only one slice of "Hot Pepper" to the tin. (Not Hot) Oil flavor is noticeable. I may eat again. 1 1/2 Sardines.

  1. Eating a tin of Brunswick sardines in spring water as I read this: my tin had three large sardines in it and they were quite firm, with flaky flesh - not mushy at all. While I have to say that I've occasionally had a mushy batch with this brand, generally they are pretty good.

    1. That's great to hear. I've yet to experience that; I bought a 12 pack of the ones in water. Perhaps its time for a revisit.

  2. Just purchased the mustard and dill variety today. "New gourmet style fillet" adorns the tin. 4, medium-large sardines were in the can. As mentioned above, sardines were firm, flaky, and almost dry. Pair with the mustard, a good tin. Would personally purchase again.

  3. How come you never tried the herring? Brunswick Golden Smoked herring is yummy! My fav out of the ones I've tried. Lemon pepper- meh, kipper - good, hot sauce- second Feb.
