PRODUCT OF: THAILAND

INGREDIENTS:
Sardines, Soybean Oil, Water, Salt

OVERALL:
A very strong fish aroma upon opening. Several pieces of fillets in the tin. A dry fish, almost a rubbery texture. (chewy) Rib bones are all throughout this tin, if you are against bones: stay away from these. These may be good in a recipe of sorts. I would not eat again plain.no sardines.

Sardine List (I'm Back)

It's been awhile, hell it's been a year since I've updated this blog. I lost a great amount of info and became discouraged . But da hell with it, time to start again, and eat, and blog about more sardines!

PRODUCT OF: POLAND

INGREDIENTS: SPRING WATER, SALT

PRICE: $1.09

OVERALL: Four to a can, would guess the oil floating in the spring water would be the natural oil of the sardine. The sardines were very soft almost mushy soft. Decent flavor, kind of a being at the ocean after taste. Personal preference is too mushy for me. Out of 5 sardines, I give it a 2.

PORT CLYDE: IN MUSTARD SAUCE

PRICE:$.98

OVERALL: Three medium sardines (small to port Clyde's standards)They are literally swimming in mustard sauce. Sardines on the soft/mushy side. The sauce is a little runny, but by no means is it over watery, nor does it lack flavor, if you are a fan of sardines in the mustard sauce you will enjoy these. out of 5 sardines, these will receive 3.

PRODUCT OF: POLAND

INGREDIENTS: SOYBEAN OIL, SALT, NATURAL SMOKE FLAVOR

PRICE:$1.49

OVERALL: Five to a can. Does not look appealing at all. "SELECT SMALL" Who the hell are they trying to fool. The smoke flavor hits you on the first bite, takes away from the fish. Actually has a fishy aftertaste, not a pleasant one. Was very disappointed. I would not recommend it. 1 sardine is all it shall receive.

OVERALL: Four to a can. Actually looks pleasant. Looks how I would have expected the select small to have looked. They are the exact same, same ingredients everything. However, these taste much better, as if they were done by two different canneries. No over pungent after taste, smoke still covers up the sardine taste, only a hint of fishy after taste. Out of 5 sardines, I give it a 2.

PRODUCT OF: POLAND

INGREDIENTS: SOYBEAN OIL, TOMATO PASTE, VINEGAR, SALT, PAPRIKA, CHILI OIL, CAYENNE PEPPER, XANTHAN GUM

PRICE:$1.09

OVERALL: Four to a can, no noticeable odor. Sauce filled to the brim. Nice texture, really nice heat from the sauce, can really taste the Cayenne, on the first bite and your mouth feel the warmth. Can't really taste the fish for the hot sauce. But that's OK, some of the best hot sauce I've tasted from a sardine can. Out of 5 sardines, I give it a 4.
