OVERALL:
The slight smoke aroma upon opening, Nine small Fish to the tin. A semi-firm fish, the smoke flavor takes away from the Fish. Crunchy spine, the texture reminds me of eating sand, gritty. After taste is a little off-putting, at first like a container after taste, after that, not a bad tin. I may eat again. 3 1/2 sardines.

OVERALL:
Upon opening, they have a very appealing appearance with a very faint tomato aroma. A slight wang hits you on the first bite. Eight Fish to the tin. A subtle sardine flavor hits you after the wang goes away, with a plain bland taste followed up in the rear. They are semi-soft Fish. The spine is undetected. Not a bad tin, not one I would seek out ether. I would eat again. 2 1/2 Sardines.

I do not care for the "NEW! EASY OPEN LID!" just don't feel right. I don't believe these would have a long shelf life as the "not so easy-open lid" two large, scaled, very neat, clean, looking sardines to the tin. The fish are a tad on the soft side and on the dry side. Bones are not detectable. A very mild flavor fish. Wouldn't eat again. Fish crumbles while removing from tin. No sardines

A very faint oil aroma hits you on popping. Ten small Fish to the tin. A mild-tasting fish; not a spiny fish; a clean tasting Fish. No strong taste or after taste. Oil flavor is present, yet, not overpowering. The texture is a little dry, an almost fine coarse texture. I would eat again. 4 sardines.

A very faint fish aroma upon opening. Five Fish to the tin. This tin is literally a blank canvas in the world of tinned Fish, with no oil to add to any flavor. A tad dry. It's pure meat, an immaculate tasting fish; a very meaty fish; an excellent textured fish. These could be used in any recipe. These would be great to use your own sauce on.
 If you are a sardine purist (I know a lot of you Sardine Eaters' are), you will not like these. If you like tuna, you will love these. They are like eating tuna. I love sardines of all shapes, sizes, and colors, naked or not. I will eat these again.

Garlic aroma hits you on opening. 5 fillets to the tin, a firm-textured fish. Garlic hits you on the first bite, being very detectable, yet the garlic does not overpower the Fish. A faint lemon flavor makes itself known, then disperses as quickly as it appeared. A nice thin slice of lemon rests on the bottom of the tin. A very clean tasting fish and after taste. (virtually no after taste) patches of scales and skin are present. If you give it to someone and tell them it was sardines, they may not believe you. A good tin for someone who is still not on the fence with sardines. I would eat again. 5 sardines

No strong aromas upon opening. A lovely tin of Fish. Seven Fish to the tin, A medium textured fish, the smoke flavor of the Fish is subtle. A mild tasting oil, no lingering after taste, not a spiny fish. Would eat again. 5 Sardines.

  1. i just got a few of this brand in water. don't like them so much, tastes more like tuna, and dry. these were boneless and skinless. very firm. putting them in the sauce of a flavored can helps a bit.

    1. Just tried the boneless and skinless. They are just like eating tuna. They are good to add your own sauce to. Most sardine eaters won't like these.

  2. The "Season girl" is wearing flip flops on all the containers except for the brisling in tomato. on that she has these weird lace up boots. More useless info!

  3. Been eating the s&b season sardines for about 40 years...good go to sardine but the fillets are better, not as dry...its not a high end sardine but it fills the bill and is available at many supermarkets
