  PRODUCT OF:
Caught in Maine, produced in Canada

INGREDIENTS: Sardine fillets, Cracked Pepper, Salt

  PRICE: 2.00

OVERALL: Slight hint of a smokey flavor aroma upon opening the tin. The skin is still present. Several large fillets to the tin. This appears to be what becomes LARGE sardines. Instead of calling them boneless sardines, they just split them and call them fillets. Making them all fancy. With a semi-firm texture, the pepper is very detectable. It really adds an excellent flavor to the fish. A very mild-tasting fish. No fishy after taste nor taste at all. A very good tin of fish. It would be a very good tin for a first-timer wanting to eat sardines. If you like the sardine taste and know you are eating sardines, then you won't like these. I'll give these guys 4 1/2 sardines.

  INGREDIENTS:
Sardine Fillets, Mustard (white vinegar, water, salt, turmeric, mustard seed, spices)Evaporated cane juice, Native Tapioca starch, Canola Oil, Salt
PRICE:

OVERALL: No strong aroma upon opening. A very soft fish falls apart while trying to get t out of the tin. Several large pieces of fillets in the tin. No mustard flavor at all. You would never know these were in mustard if it wasn't for the yellow hue and the fact the box says so. This tin of fish has no flavor at all. Just a tin of meat. Not a bad tin at all, just not a flavorful tin at all. Would eat again if I needed some type of filler in a recipe or the sorts. Two sardines

  1. Just tried the smoked version. Very good, sometimes smoked fillets can become overly firm or tough from spending a tad too much time in the smoker(Polar). These were almost perfect. At $2 a pop from Big Lots it's a deal. Am pretty sure these are made by Barr Harbor(spendy).

    1. But it is all good cholesterol. Sardines raise your HDL (good cholesterol) while lowering your LDL (Bad cholesterol)

  3. Just bought some at these at Big Lots in Mooresville, N.C. to add to a gift basket--my first impression was that they looked "gourmet", without the high price. With all the talk these days about fish oil, antioxidants and cholesterol, it seems like a great snack with benefits! Time to load up the pantry....Thanks for your informative website.
